FISCAL IMPACT REPORT ON CITIZEN GENEROSITY
I'm an independent contractor. Which means even your generosity is subject to fiscal extraction. Here's what actually happens when you give me €10. Spoiler: the State is the primary beneficiary.

VERDICT
Out of your €10, the State takes €2.69 in contributions and taxes. Stripe takes €0.40. I'm left with €6.91. In France, even generosity is taxable. The State produced nothing, created nothing, added nothing — but it takes its share. As always.
WHY THESE DEDUCTIONS?
As an independent contractor in a liberal profession (BNC category), I'm under the micro-social scheme: 25.6% social contributions on gross revenue (not profit — on revenue, even if I have expenses). Add 2.2% income tax via the flat-rate option, and 0.2% vocational training contribution (CFP). Total: 28% of every euro collected goes to the State before I can spend a single cent. Social contributions do open entitlements (pension, health coverage); income tax does not. Note: the 28% rate is calculated on revenue after Stripe fees (€9.60); relative to the gross donation of €10, this represents 26.9%.
